Blue Light Card Days Out Discounts at Theme Parks and Zoos

Where can you get Blue Light days out discounts? Mostly at theme parks, zoos and historic sites, where member rates run from 4% to 25%.

Alton Towers, Thorpe Park and LEGOLAND Windsor take up to 15% off tickets through a member link. Twycross Zoo offers up to 25%, and English Heritage takes 20% off a new membership.

Cinemas sell discounted vouchers instead, but their rates only show once you log in. We checked every offer below on 25 October 2026.

Member Rates From 4% to 25%

These are the biggest offers on Blue Light Card’s public pages, and the catch attached to each.

Blue Light Card’s days out and leisure pages also list Chessington World of Adventures, Go Ape, Kew Gardens and the Eden Project, without public rates.

Almost every offer needs booking online before the day. At the gate, you’ll usually pay the normal price.

Three Merlin Resorts at Up to 15%

Alton Towers, Thorpe Park and LEGOLAND Windsor use a member link rather than a code. Click through from your account, and the member price shows at checkout.

Blue Light Card lists Alton Towers tickets from £28 at the member price. Its Thorpe Park page gives 15% off and says tickets must be booked online.

Blue Light Card’s LEGOLAND Windsor page warns that some peak dates may not be discounted, so compare the basket with the park’s own price. Drayton Manor takes up to 7% with a code instead, and our theme park guide covers it.

Resort Hotels Take Up to 10% Off

All three Blue Light Card pages also list up to 10% off a stay in the resort’s own hotels. The LEGOLAND page adds that many offers cover short breaks too. For other UK breaks, our holiday guide covers Haven and Butlin’s.

Book Warwick Castle in Advance

Warwick Castle has member pricing through a link too, with the rate hidden until you log in. Blue Light Card’s FAQ says the offer doesn’t work at the entrance, only on bookings made online in advance.

SEA LIFE also uses a link. Tickets must be booked at least 24 hours ahead, and staff ask for proof of employment. Chessington’s rate needs a login as well.

For these, the 4% Merlin Gift Card is the one public rate, so £100 of credit costs £96. It can’t be used at the gate or part-pay a booking, and Blue Light Card has no Merlin Annual Pass offer.

£15 to £29.12 on a Member Day

On a Member Day, an attraction closes to the public and opens only to Blue Light Card members. The 2026 list took in Alton Towers on 7 March (£21 a head), LEGOLAND Windsor on 8 March (£23) and Warwick Castle on 7 June (£17).

Twycross Zoo charged £20 for adults and £15 for children on 20 September. Thorpe Park’s Fright Nights on 7 and 8 November cost £29.12 a head and have already sold out.

Each event includes free parking and 10% off in the on-site shops. The Member Days FAQ allows up to six tickets, but you must go, with your card and one more ID. Tickets are non-refundable, and a season pass won’t get you in.

25% at Twycross and 15% at Knowsley

Twycross Zoo near Atherstone has the top rate, with up to 25% off day tickets on Blue Light Card’s zoo page. You paste the emailed code in at checkout.

Knowsley Safari takes 15% off online bookings, but not at the gate. London Zoo and Whipsnade Zoo take 10% off pre-booked tickets, and the London Zoo code only covers single dated tickets, not family tickets or memberships.

Chester Zoo works through Love to visit, a booking partner, so search for Love to visit in your account. Blue Light Card doesn’t publish the rate.

Longleat isn’t on the card, but it sells its own Emergency Services day tickets for NHS, police and fire staff, among others, booked online at least a day ahead. Our zoo guide compares more parks, from West Midland Safari Park to Marwell.

Heritage Days Out at 20% and 7%

English Heritage’s offer cuts the price of membership, while the National Trust one is a discounted gift card.

English Heritage for New Members

English Heritage takes 20% off a new membership. You click through from your account, and the code is copied for you to enter on English Heritage’s website.

Blue Light Card’s English Heritage page says the 20% covers individual, joint, family and senior annual memberships, but not renewals, life memberships or monthly Direct Debits.

Individual membership costs £84 a year, or £67.20 after the discount. Membership covers over 400 sites, each adult member can bring up to six children or grandchildren under 18 free, and parking is free at most sites.

National Trust Gift Cards at 7%

There’s no National Trust code. Instead, Blue Light Card sells National Trust gift cards at 7% off, so a £100 card costs £93.

Spend them in shops, cafés and admission points at most properties in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, or on a new membership. The National Trust’s gift card page adds that they can’t pay for renewals.

Blue Light Card’s gift card page also links to a National Trust membership discount, but that page could not be found on 25 October 2026.

£119.20 Beats Two Family Tickets

Picture two adults and three children planning two big English Heritage days out. For 25 October 2026, an advance family ticket at Stonehenge or Dover Castle cost £61.79, or £68 with the optional Gift Aid donation.

The two trips come to £123.58. A Family 2 Adults membership costs £149 a year and covers up to 12 children. With 20% off, it comes to £119.20 for the year.

So the member price beats the two tickets by £4.38, and every other English Heritage visit that year is free. At the full £149, the family would need a third trip to come out ahead.

On the day, the same family ticket costs £72.70 without the donation, so book ahead either way. Prices change by date, and some events cost members extra, at a reduced rate.

Cinema Vouchers at Eight Chains

Cinemas work through vouchers rather than codes. Blue Light Card’s help centre lists Cineworld, ODEON, Picturehouse, Showcase, The Light, Vue, REEL and Movie House, with vouchers for films and snacks.

There are discounted membership vouchers for ODEON and Cineworld too. None of the cinema pages shows a rate, though. We rechecked ODEON, Cineworld and Vue on 25 October 2026, and the savings only appear after you log in.

A voucher isn’t a ticket, so you still book a seat with the cinema. Booking online adds £1 a ticket at ODEON, Cineworld and Picturehouse, and £2.50 a booking at Showcase. ODEON’s voucher terms let you redeem at its ticket kiosks with no booking fee, though not at the box office.

Refunds are only possible within 14 days, and only if you haven’t viewed the voucher in your Wallet.

For gigs, sport and shows, Blue Light Tickets releases free or discounted tickets, some by ballot, and the cardholder must go. Hollywood Bowl has a code for standard bowling or mini-golf from Monday to Thursday, and on Fridays until 6pm.

Search the App Before You Book

Nearly every offer here starts in the Blue Light Card app or website, not at the attraction.

1. Log in and search for the attraction. For Chester Zoo, search for Love to visit, and add “member day” to find a Member Day.
2. Open the offer. Get Discount takes you to the attraction’s site with the member price applied, while Copy Discount Code copies a code for checkout.
3. For a gift card or cinema voucher, choose the amount and pay. The details appear in your Wallet.
4. Book online before the day, and paste any code at checkout.
5. Take your Blue Light Card with you. London Zoo and Member Days ask to see it, and SEA LIFE asks for proof of employment.
