Does Argos do a Blue Light Card discount? Yes, through a 4% off Argos Shopping Card that you buy in the Blue Light Card app before you shop.

There’s no code to type in and nothing off for showing your card at the till. Instead you pay with the Shopping Card, in any UK Argos store or on argos.co.uk.
So a £100 card costs £96. We checked the rules with Blue Light Card and Argos on 24 October 2026, including what happens inside Sainsbury’s.
Pick a Value and Pay 4% Less
It all starts in your Blue Light Card account. Log in on the app or website, search for Argos and open its offer page. Choose the Argos Shopping Card, pick the value you want and pay the member price. Blue Light Card’s Argos gift card page says the card details are ready to use straight away.
At an Argos till, hand the card over before the sale goes through. Online, choose Gift Cards at the payment step and enter the card number and PIN. The card covers home delivery and click and collect orders, and Argos says it can pay the delivery charge too.
If the order costs more than the card holds, pay the rest with a debit or credit card. Whatever you don’t spend stays on the card for next time, until the expiry date shown on the card or in its email.
You can buy as many cards as you like. Blue Light Card limits you to three cards per transaction, though Argos’s own terms only apply that cap online. Plan on three to be safe.
Don’t go looking for a code. Blue Light Card’s main Argos page says members don’t get one. Its gift card page says Argos sometimes offers members codes on specific products, but none is listed publicly, so check the Argos offer in the app before you pay.

Argos Top 100 Deals Plus 4%
Here’s what 4% does to real Argos prices. Picture an early Christmas shop, with a 58 inch Samsung TV for the lounge and three presents.
All four were on Argos’s Top 100 deals list on 24 October 2026. None came from a Trusted Seller, so the card can pay for every item.

Paying with card balance bought at 4% off turns a £723.98 shop into £695.02. That’s a saving of £28.96 without a single code.
The £4.99 membership fee is covered once about £125 has gone through the card. Here the TV alone covers it three times over, while the trimmer saves just £1.40.
Two of the four were already reduced. The LEGO set was down from £140 and the trimmer from £45. Argos’s gift card terms let you spend the card on current promotional offers at the listed price, so the 4% comes off the sale price.
Argos’s own codes are open to everyone. On 24 October its codes page listed TOYS25 for 25% off selected toys and XMAS20 for 20% off selected Christmas trees and lights. None was for NHS staff or key workers. Deal prices and codes change often, so check them on the day.
Argos Stores Inside Sainsbury’s
Sainsbury’s owns Argos, and some Argos stores sit inside its supermarkets. Even so, their gift cards don’t cross over. J Sainsbury plc has also agreed to sell Argos to Swift Partners, and its interim results expect the deal to complete by the end of February 2027.
Spend It Under the Argos Logo
Argos says its gift cards can’t be used in Sainsbury’s itself. The rule is to look for the Argos logo, and that includes Argos stores inside Sainsbury’s supermarkets.
So the card pays at the Argos counter, but not at the supermarket tills. You can also order on argos.co.uk, pick a Sainsbury’s as your collection point and pay online with the card.
Sainsbury’s Cards Stay Separate
It doesn’t work the other way either. Blue Light Card’s Sainsbury’s Shopping Card can’t be spent at in-store concessions, which is how Argos describes its stores inside Sainsbury’s.
A Multi Brand gift card for Sainsbury’s, Argos, TU and Habitat does work in both. It isn’t on Blue Light Card’s gift card list, though, so keep each discounted card for its own tills. Our supermarket guide has more on the Sainsbury’s card.
Trusted Seller Items Are Left Out
The biggest catch is online. Argos also sells products from approved outside sellers, which it calls Trusted Sellers, and gift cards can’t pay for them.
Argos says these items always show a Trusted Seller label or the seller’s name where they’re listed. Check before you add anything to your trolley, because Argos Pay and Nectar points can’t pay for them either.
Argos’s terms add a few more limits. Gift cards can’t buy other gift cards, vouchers or digital downloads, can’t pay for phone orders and can’t be swapped for cash. The same terms cover Argos cards sold through other retailers and reward schemes.
Nectar needs a little planning. Argos gives 1 point for every £1 you spend, and 500 points are worth £2.50 there. If you spend points on an online order, though, the terms say the rest must go on a debit or credit card, not an Argos gift card.
Returns go back to the card. If you send back something you paid for with it, Argos credits the refund to the same gift card, or issues a new one if that card isn’t available. It won’t replace a lost or stolen card, so keep the details private.
Currys Pays 5.5% on Tech
Argos isn’t always the best card for electricals. Blue Light Card’s Currys Shopping Card saves 5.5% at Currys, though it can’t be spent on iPhones. John Lewis cards save 3% and Apple’s save 2%.
On a £500 TV, that’s £27.50 off at Currys against £20 at Argos. Argos still wins on range, because its card covers toys, furniture and sports kit as well as tech.
