There’s no public promo code for the Blue Light Card itself. Membership codes only come from employers, schools and approved organisations. Blue Light Card won’t hand one out on request.

Everyone else pays the standard £4.99 for two years, and renewing costs the same. The codes members use day to day are brand discount codes, which appear in the app once you’ve joined.

Codes Come From Your Employer
Blue Light Card’s help centre is plain about it. Some employers, schools and approved organisations give out promo codes to put towards the cost of membership, and Blue Light Card says it can’t issue them directly.
So if a code is the plan, start with your own organisation. Ask HR or your manager whether one exists, because the help centre suggests checking with the organisation itself.
Larger employers can go further and pay the whole fee. Blue Light Card’s workforce scheme lets organisations in eligible sectors with more than 250 staff buy memberships in bulk. Their staff join through a promo code, a work email domain or a single sign-on link, without paying or uploading ID.
Care UK, with 13,000 team members, is one employer that has done it. Organisations below 250 staff can’t buy in bulk, so Blue Light Card suggests they reimburse staff who pay the £4.99 themselves.
Promo Codes at Sign Up or Renewal
The code goes in during your application, not at a shop’s checkout. The same box appears when you renew, so you can use a code from your organisation then too, if its terms allow.
- Start your application, or your renewal, in the Blue Light Card app or on its website.
- Work through the steps until you reach the page where you choose your sign up category.
- Find the Got a Promo Code box on that page and type the code exactly as given, with any capitals and no spaces before or after it.
- Check the code has been applied, then pay whatever is left of the fee.
If the code won’t apply, check each character and read any instructions from the organisation that gave it to you, because codes can carry an expiry date or a usage limit. Still stuck? Send Blue Light Card’s support team the code and the organisation’s name, which speeds up the check.

No Free Card on Coupon Sites
Search for a Blue Light Card promo code and you’ll find coupon sites promising money off the fee, or even a free card. Blue Light Card only gives membership codes to employers, schools and approved organisations. A code posted for anyone to use isn’t one it has issued to the public.
Most of those pages really list brand offers, the discount codes members get inside the app. Those codes are tied to your account. Blue Light Card copies each one to the device you requested it on and emails it to your account’s address, which is a long way from a code on a public page.
Blue Light Card does run promotions of its own, but they work through your account rather than a code. Its Rewards Programme sends a breakfast voucher to members who make 10 or more qualifying purchases through its online offers in a calendar month. In-store offers don’t count, and the voucher arrives by email within five working days of the month ending.
Prize draws come round too. The Renewal Grocery Draw entered members who received its email and renewed between 18 August and 12 October 2026, with 100 £50 grocery Shopping Cards to win. Entry came from renewing, not from typing a code.
Brand Codes Live in Your Wallet
Once you’ve joined, most savings come as one of a handful of offer types, and Blue Light Card’s guide to offer types shows how to tell them apart. This is how they line up against the membership code.

Discount codes are the ones most people mean by a promo code. When you request one, it’s copied to your device, saved in the Wallet section of the app and emailed to you. The Wallet lists codes from newest to oldest, with each one’s expiry date.
Each offer also has a limit on how many codes you can request. If an offer says it isn’t available, you’ve probably reached that limit, and it resets on the code’s refresh date.
If a brand code fails at checkout, paste it into the promo or discount code box with no spaces, and check your basket meets the offer’s terms, such as a minimum spend. With two codes for the same brand, use the newest. If the saving still doesn’t show, pause before you pay, because Blue Light Card says a purchase made without the discount has to be taken up with the brand.

Black Friday Deals Drop 27 November
The biggest promotion on the calendar is Black Friday. Blue Light Card’s homepage says its deals drop on 27 November 2026, and its Black Friday page warns that offers can change through Cyber Weekend, so log in to see the latest.
Shopping Cards get higher rates at other times of year. Blue Light Card says brands sometimes boost their Shopping Card discounts for a limited time, and its Shopping Cards page links to the offers boosted right now.
On a laptop, the Deal Finder extension saves you hunting for codes. It’s built for Chrome and pops up on a partner’s website when a Blue Light Card discount is available. You sign in through the pop-up, then paste the code at checkout. Blue Light Card says it may not work in Safari or Firefox.
