Does Halfords do a Blue Light discount? Yes, Blue Light Card members get up to 7% off in store and online, plus 10% off servicing at Halfords garages.

Blue Light Card also sells a Halfords Shopping Card at 4.5% off. Halfords doesn’t list an NHS discount of its own. NHS staff can use Blue Light Card or the free Health Service Discounts.
Halfords Codes Worth Up to 7%
The everyday saving is a discount code from your Blue Light Card account.
Halfords puts the code at up to 7%. Blue Light Card’s Halfords page currently says up to 8% online and in store, with boosts during the year. Plan on 7% and treat anything higher as a bonus.
Blue Light Card’s FAQ says the code covers bikes, car accessories and car maintenance products, online and in participating stores. Exclusions apply, and Halfords doesn’t publish them for this code.
For comparison, Halfords’ terms for its 7% code on Health Service Discounts leave out tech such as dash cams and sat navs, electric bikes and scooters, and tyres, servicing and MOTs. Check the offer in the app before a big tech order.
Deals are the other limit. Halfords says a code may not work with Buy One Get One Free or 3 for 2 offers, and Blue Light Card’s FAQ says it usually can’t be combined with other promotions.
Say you buy a Carrera Vengeance Junior Mountain Bike at its full price of £360. If the whole 7% applies, the code takes £25.20 off the price. That covers the £4.99 membership five times over.
Does Halfords Do an NHS Discount?
Not one of its own. Search halfords.com for NHS and you land on its list of partner discount schemes. Blue Light Card is there among the schemes valid in store and online, and Defence Discount Service covers the forces community.
NHS staff have a free alternative. Health Service Discounts lists 7% off Halfords online and in store, 10% off servicing and a free MOT with a Full or Major Service. Its in-store voucher needs an NHS ID card or payslip, and its Halfords gift card is 4% off.
A 4.5% Card for Stores and Garages
The Halfords Shopping Card works without a code. You buy Halfords credit in the Blue Light Card app at 4.5% below face value, so £100 costs £95.50.
Blue Light Card says the card spends across Halfords’ full range, in store and at halfords.com. Halfords’ own gift card terms add its garages, so the card can pay for an MOT, a service or fitting work. Up to three cards fit one online order. Halfords gives each card 24 months from its last use, but Blue Light Card says you must open its link within a year of buying.
Halfords won’t refund a discounted card, so refunds go through Blue Light Card, which may refund it within 14 days if you haven’t viewed it. Halfords isn’t on its top-up list either, so each purchase is a new card.
Halfords’ own Savers Card pays a little more. Anyone can load one and take 5% off each top-up with the code SAVE5, and it works in stores, online and at Autocentres. On the £360 bike that’s £18, against £16.20 from the Shopping Card.
Blue Light Card’s gift card page has a Stack Your Savings section that pairs the card with a code. But Halfords’ terms for the matching Health Service Discounts code rule out paying with its gift cards, so check the code’s terms in the app first.
10% Off Servicing and MOT Included
The bigger savings are at Halfords’ 600 plus garages. Its help page lists three for Blue Light Card holders. Blue Light Card’s own Halfords page doesn’t mention them, so open the offer in your account before you book.
A Full Service Every 12,000 Miles
Halfords recommends a Full Service every 12 months or 12,000 miles, and a Major Service every 24 months or 24,000 miles. The Major Service adds a new cabin filter and brake fluid. Only these two bring the MOT offer, not the six-monthly Interim Service.
Book either online and Halfords adds 12 months of its breakdown cover at no extra cost. An MOT on its own is listed from £44.99, and GOV.UK caps a car MOT at £54.85.
£45 Off a Full Service and MOT

If your car is due its MOT, the MOT offer is worth more. It saves £45 against the bundle on a Full Service, while 10% off the service alone saves £19.
Don’t plan on both in one booking. Halfords’ terms for the matching offers on Health Service Discounts say neither code works with another promotion. Repairs get 5% off, so a £300 repair would cost £285.
Motoring Club Premium at £54 a Year
Halfords’ Motoring Club has a free tier and a paid one, and neither mixes with Blue Light Card. Halfords says club benefits don’t work alongside a third-party discount, so each order takes one or the other.
The free tier gives a £5 welcome voucher on a £30 spend, £5 off an MOT and a 10-point car check. Blue Light Card has no listed offer on an MOT booked on its own, so that £5 is worth having.
Premium costs £54 a year, or £5.49 a month (£65.88 in total), with a 12-month minimum. It includes an MOT, 5% off motoring products, services and repairs, a £10 welcome voucher, one store fitting and two car checks.
Take the Full Service and MOT again. Premium takes 5% off the £189.99 service and includes the MOT, so you pay £180.49 plus the £54 fee. With Blue Light Card’s MOT offer you pay £189.99, and the £4.99 membership lasts two years. Premium only pulls ahead if you use its other perks.
NHS staff can trim that fee. Health Service Discounts lists 15% off a first year of annual Premium, bought online.
Halfords’ price match has a Blue Light catch too. It won’t match a rival’s price that depends on a membership deal such as Blue Light Card, and no other voucher goes on top of a matched price.
Code to Basket in Five Steps
The same steps work for a bike, car parts or a service booking.
- Log in to the Blue Light Card app or website and search for Halfords.
- Open the offer and press Copy Discount Code. The code is copied to your device, emailed to you and saved in your Wallet.
- Online, add your items to the basket at halfords.com, type the code into the voucher code box and press Apply.
- In a store, show the code at the till before you pay.
- For a service or MOT, enter your registration and postcode at halfords.com, choose a garage and slot, then add the code in the basket before checkout.
