Blue Light Card’s best Merlin rate is up to 15% off day tickets. There’s no Merlin Annual Pass discount, so members pay Merlin’s usual £139 to £299 a year.

The 15% works at Alton Towers, Thorpe Park and LEGOLAND Windsor. The 4% Merlin Gift Card might cover a pass, but Merlin’s own pages don’t settle whether it can.
Merlin runs no NHS, key worker or emergency services pass of its own. On its cheapest dates, the £139 Essential pass pays off from about the fifth theme park day.
The £139 Pass Has No Member Rate
Blue Light Card has no Merlin Annual Pass page and no pass gift card, and the pass isn’t in its A to Z of 578 brands. The A to Z lists five Merlin attractions instead, from Alton Towers to Warwick Castle.
Its help centre doesn’t mention Merlin at all. The Member Days FAQ even says a season pass won’t get you into a Member Day, so you’d still need a separate ticket.
Merlin doesn’t fill the gap. Its perks page and pass help centre show no NHS or key worker pass, and nothing for the emergency services. Its own savings aren’t tied to your job. Gold and Platinum holders save up to £80 when they renew, Essential renewals get no discount, and Nectar members can put points towards a pass.

Buy from Merlin or a seller it approves. Its pass terms warn that a pass bought through an unauthorised third-party channel can be revoked without compensation.
Paying for a Pass at 4% Off
Blue Light Card sells the Merlin Gift Card at 4% below face value, so £100 to spend costs £96. Its page says the card pays for tickets, hotel stays, Fastrack and VIP experiences at over 30 Merlin attractions. It doesn’t mention the Annual Pass.
Merlin’s own pages pull in different directions. The gift card site lists the Merlin Annual Pass among its attractions, and the pass page there has a Book Now button.
The gift card terms describe a prepaid Mastercard for admission tickets, short breaks, Fastrack and VIP experiences. Their list of attractions leaves the pass out, yet the same terms say the card works with the attractions listed on the website. The gift card FAQ lists where to spend it, and the pass isn’t there either.
On the pass side, Merlin’s Annual Pass FAQ says you can buy online or at any of its UK attractions. Its pages mention paying by Klarna, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal, but not by Merlin Gift Card.
So it stays unclear on Merlin’s own terms. Ask the card’s support team at Virgin Incentives, which runs it for Merlin, before you buy a card for a pass. If it works, 4% takes £5.56 off Essential, £9.56 off Gold and £11.96 off Platinum.
One card has to cover the whole pass, because Merlin doesn’t allow part payment. Wait to open it, too, since Blue Light Card only refunds Shopping Cards that haven’t been viewed, within 14 days.
Click Through for the 15% Price
The 15% offers at Alton Towers, Thorpe Park and LEGOLAND Windsor are dedicated website offers. In the Blue Light Card app or website, search for the park, open the offer and press Get Discount. You land on the park’s booking page with the member price applied, and there’s no code to type.
Choose your date and check the basket against the park’s own online price, because Alton Towers and LEGOLAND say up to 15%. Blue Light Card’s Thorpe Park FAQ says tickets must be booked online through its link, and its LEGOLAND FAQ warns that some peak dates aren’t discounted. Our Alton Towers guide has more on that park.
The gift card takes a few more steps. Search for Merlin Gift Card in your account and buy one big enough for the whole order. Its details then appear in your Wallet.
To spend it, go to merlingiftcard.co.uk, choose the attraction and press Book Now. At checkout, pay by card, pick Mastercard if asked and enter the 16-digit number, expiry date and CVC2 code. Tickets can be dated after the card expires, as long as you book within its 12 months.
Neither site says whether the card can pay for member-priced tickets, so don’t count on adding 4% to the 15%. The pass itself is bought on Merlin’s pass site or at an attraction, and every visit has to be pre-booked.
£147.90 Against a £139 Pass
Say you plan five theme park days next year: two at Alton Towers, two at Thorpe Park and one at LEGOLAND Windsor. Merlin’s lowest online prices are £32 at Alton Towers, £39 at Thorpe Park and £32 at LEGOLAND.
With the full 15% off, those tickets cost £27.20, £33.15 and £27.20. The five days come to £147.90 at member prices, which is £8.90 more than the Essential pass.
Drop one Thorpe Park day and four days cost £114.75, so the day tickets win by £24.25. Online prices vary by date, and the walk-up price is £68 at Alton Towers and £66 at Thorpe Park, so the pass pays off sooner if you can’t pick the cheapest days.
Check the exclusions too. Merlin lists 39 exclusion days for Essential. Gold is only blocked at Alton Towers on its Fireworks dates, and it adds free parking.
If you stick to one park, its own pass may beat both. Alton Towers and Thorpe Park each sell a single-park pass for £64 a year, and LEGOLAND Windsor and Chessington quote passes from £64. Three member-priced days at Alton Towers already cost £81.60.
Member Days come in cheaper again, though they’re rare and a pass won’t get you in. Thorpe Park’s Fright Nights days on 7 and 8 November were £29.12 a head on Blue Light Card’s 2026 list, and they’ve sold out.
The 4% card can’t match 15% at these three parks. It matters more where Blue Light Card shows no public rate, such as Chessington and Merlin’s London attractions.
London Eye and Madame Tussauds
Blue Light Card’s days out page lists Madame Tussauds London, and its theme park page has a Shrek’s Adventure! London tile. Neither has an offer page or an A to Z entry, so any rate only shows in the app. The London Eye and the London Dungeon don’t appear on its public pages at all.
All of them take the Merlin Gift Card. The London Eye starts at £29 online, Madame Tussauds London at £27 and SEA LIFE London at £28, and a ticket for all three starts at £54 a head. Two adults on that ticket spend £108, or £103.68 with the card.
SEA LIFE also has its own member link, which Blue Light Card says covers most UK centres. Tickets must be booked at least 24 hours ahead, and staff ask for proof of employment at the door.
A Merlin pass covers the London Eye, Madame Tussauds, the Dungeons and SEA LIFE as well, but not the London Eye River Cruise, where Gold and Platinum holders get 50% off instead.
