Say your washing machine floods the kitchen floor on a Sunday night. Blue Light Card home appliance discounts can cut the cost of a new one, mostly online.

Blue Light Guide is an independent guide and isn’t affiliated with Blue Light Card Ltd. For your account, verification or payments, use the official Blue Light Card website or app.

AO takes £15 off large appliances over £299. A Currys Shopping Card costs 5.5% less than it’s worth. Samsung’s member store is usually 10% below Samsung.com prices.

Bosch and Hotpoint are on the card too, but their rates only show once you log in.

Eight Kitchen Appliance Deals

Blue Light Card sorts its offers into washing machines, dishwashers, ovens, air fryers and coffee machines on its kitchen appliances page. Its FAQ says most can be redeemed online, and some retailers take them in store too.

Here’s how the main shops and brands compare, as listed on 24 October 2026.

AO and Six Other Shops

Seven appliance shops have member offers, and they work in one of two ways.

AO Takes £15 Off Large Appliances

AO uses fixed-amount codes with a minimum spend. Blue Light Card’s AO page lists £15 off large appliances on orders of £299 or more, and suggests it for replacing a washer, dryer or dishwasher.

Blue Light Card AO page listing member codes including £15 off large appliances over £299, £25 off appliances over £549 and £45 off Haier refrigeration over £399
Blue Light Card

Spend £549 or more on appliances and there’s £25 off instead. Haier fridges and freezers get £45 off over £399, and small kitchen appliances such as air fryers get £10 off over £299. Blue Light Card’s FAQ says AO’s codes are for online orders.

A fixed amount works harder on a cheaper machine. £15 is about 5% off a £299 washer, but only 3.5% off a £429 one.

5.5% at Currys and 4% at Argos

Currys, Argos and John Lewis use discounted Shopping Cards instead. You buy a card in the app for less than its face value, then spend it like a gift card.

A Currys card costs 5.5% less than its value and works in store or online, on kitchen appliances and most of the range. Blue Light Card says it can go in the same transaction as a Currys member code, but each code only covers the products on its offer page.

Argos cards save 4%, but not on items from Argos’s Trusted Sellers. John Lewis cards save 3%, online or in any John Lewis store.

Hughes and Marks Electrical Codes

Hughes, Appliances Direct and Marks Electrical each give members a discount code for their websites. Blue Light Card’s Hughes page says its code covers TVs, home appliances, audio and smart home tech.

The Appliances Direct code is for kitchen appliances such as fridges, ovens, hobs and dishwashers. The Marks Electrical one applies to selected appliances and electronics. None of the three shows a rate on Blue Light Card’s public pages.

Code or Card Before You Pay

Every route starts in the Blue Light Card app or website, before you reach the shop’s checkout. Log in, search for the shop or brand and open its offer.

Code offers show a Copy Discount Code button. Blue Light Card’s help centre says the code is copied to your device, emailed to you and saved in your Wallet. Paste it in at the shop’s checkout and check the saving appears before you pay.

Shopping Cards work the other way round. Choose a value, pay the member price and the card is loaded straight away. In store, show it at the till before the sale goes through. Online, enter the card details at the payment stage.

Checklist showing Currys, Argos and John Lewis Shopping Cards work in store and online, while AO, Ninja, Dyson, Beko and Sage codes work online only

Only buy what you need. Blue Light Card’s Wallet help page says a card can only be refunded if you haven’t viewed it and you’re within the 14-day cooling-off period.

Samsung works through a dedicated website instead. You press Get Discount, and Samsung’s site opens with member prices applied. Our guide to using your Blue Light Card covers codes, Shopping Cards and the Wallet in more detail.

White Goods Straight From the Maker

Some appliance makers sell to members on their own websites. Most keep the rate hidden until you log in.

Samsung Washers in the Member Store

Samsung runs a private store for verified key workers. Blue Light Card’s Samsung page says the offer takes in Samsung’s smart appliances, not just its phones and tablets.

Samsung’s key worker FAQ says the saving varies by product but is usually 10%, based on Samsung.com prices. There’s no code to copy, because the prices drop once you’re inside.

Hotpoint Uses a VIP Store

Hotpoint has no brand page on Blue Light Card’s website and isn’t in its A to Z of brands. Its tile on Blue Light Card’s electricals page carries a VIP label, and Hotpoint’s own key worker page explains why.

Hotpoint

Hotpoint VIP is Hotpoint’s members-only shopping site, which it describes as a multi-branded appliance store. Blue Light Card members reach it by signing in, searching for Hotpoint and following the partner link.

Neither page shows a rate, so compare the VIP price with the shops before you order.

Does Bosch Do a Blue Light Discount?

Yes, Blue Light Card lists Bosch, but you can’t see the rate before you join. Its electricals page has a Save at Bosch tile among its small appliances. Its kitchen appliances page links to Bosch offers on home appliances, dishwashers and ovens.

Blue Light Card

Bosch has no brand page or gift card page on Blue Light Card’s website, and it’s missing from the A to Z. So the rate only appears once you log in.

Appliances Direct, for one, lists Bosch among its dishwasher brands, so check whether its member code covers the model you want.

Beko and LG Codes Work Online

Beko and LG both give members a code for their own websites. Blue Light Card says Beko’s code is online only and covers selected home appliances.

LG’s code can cover TVs, sound systems, kitchen appliances and home tech, depending on the offers at the time. Neither brand shows its rate on Blue Light Card’s public pages.

One £429 Washer and Five Offers

Take a real price. On 24 October 2026, Samsung listed its Series 5 AI Energy 9kg washing machine, model WW90CGC04DABEU, at £429, down from £479.

Samsung UK listing the Bespoke AI Series 5 AI Energy 9kg washing machine, model WW90CGC04DABEU, at £429 with an RRP of £479
Samsung

In Samsung’s member store, the usual 10% would take off about £42.90, leaving £386.10. Treat that as an estimate, because Samsung only shows member prices once you’re verified.

The other routes save less on the same £429. Prices vary between shops, so compare the final price rather than the rate alone.

Bar chart of what each offer saves on a £429 washing machine: about £42.90 in Samsung's member store, £23.60 with a Currys card, £17.16 with an Argos card, £15 with AO's code and £12.87 with a John Lewis card

A Currys card would save about £23.60 and an Argos card £17.16. AO’s code takes a flat £15 off, and a John Lewis card saves £12.87. Even the smallest saving covers the £4.99 membership, which lasts two years.

Delivery and removal can change which deal wins. GOV.UK guidance says a shop selling you a new washing machine must give you a way to get rid of the old one, through a free take-back service or the Distributor Take Back Scheme. It doesn’t say collection from your door has to be free.

Small Appliances From Ninja to Sage

Smaller kitchen kit works the same way, and most of these codes are online only.

Ninja has the clearest offer, at 9% off sitewide with sale items included. Blue Light Card says the code only works on Ninja’s own website.

Blue Light Card’s Sage FAQ gives 12.5% off orders over £250 as an example of its code, for coffee machines, kettles and blenders. Dyson and Shark have online codes too, but neither Blue Light Card page shows a rate. Dyson’s codes usually can’t be combined with other promotional codes.

Watch out at Boots. Its 3% Shopping Card only works at boots.com, and Blue Light Card’s terms rule out Boots Kitchen appliances.

For the rest of the house, Dunelm takes 5% off online orders of £100 or more, and The Range takes 10% off online orders of £50 or more.
