Picture yourself at a Sports Direct till with new football boots, holding out your Blue Light Card. Nothing comes off, because members save with a Sports Direct Shopping Card bought at 3.75% below face value.
Blue Light Guide is an independent guide and isn’t affiliated with Blue Light Card Ltd. For your account, verification or payments, use the official Blue Light Card website or app.
Sports Direct’s own terms add a second route. A Blue Light Card code takes 5% off its own brands, such as Slazenger and Karrimor. It works online and in the app until 31 December 2026.
Neither beats the 10% codes at JD Sports and Nike. We checked every offer, rule and price below on 24 October 2026.
Sports Direct Gift Cards at 3.75%
Sports Direct says it doesn’t offer a Blue Light discount directly. Its help centre says offers sometimes come through third parties such as UNiDAYS and Blue Light Card instead.

The free Health Service Discounts scheme has no Sports Direct rate either. Its sportswear page only links to Sports Direct’s ongoing sale.
Blue Light Card’s offer is a discounted digital gift card, which it calls a Shopping Card. Its Sports Direct gift card page puts the saving at 3.75%. You buy the card for less than its value, then spend the full balance in UK stores, on the website or in the app.

There’s no code to type in, and the balance covers the full Sports Direct range. One figure doesn’t match, though. The Shopping Card tile on Blue Light Card’s main Sports Direct page says 5%, while the gift card page and its FAQ say 3.75%. We’ve used 3.75%, so check the price on the offer page before you pay.
Sports Direct isn’t the only big name that works this way. Zara and Primark also sell members discounted Shopping Cards instead of codes, although the Primark card only works in its shops.
Valid for Two Years in the UK
Once you’ve bought the card, Sports Direct’s own gift card rules apply. A card is valid for two years from purchase, and any balance left after that is cancelled.
You can spend it in one go or over several visits, and pay the rest of a bigger order another way. It works for UK customers only, in UK stores and online, and only at Sports Direct. It can’t buy more gift cards or be swapped for cash, and some items shipped by Sports Direct’s brand partners limit how you can pay.

Refunds Stay With Sports Direct
Returns are the catch with any gift card. Sports Direct’s refund rules say an online order paid partly or fully by gift card is refunded as a gift card or eVoucher, up to the amount the card covered. Anything paid by bank card goes back to that card.
In store, an unwanted item returned within 28 days is refunded as a credit note to spend in store. So buy kit you’re sure about, such as boots in a size your child has already tried on.
Own Brands at 5% Until December
Sports Direct’s promotion terms list two Blue Light Card offers. The first, 20% off football replica shirts online, ended on 5 October 2026.

The second runs until 31 December 2026. It takes 5% off 18 of Sports Direct’s own brands, including Slazenger, Karrimor, Lonsdale London, Sondico, USA Pro, Gelert and Jack Wills.
You get a unique code by logging in to your Blue Light Card account, then enter it at checkout on the Sports Direct website or app. It doesn’t work in Sports Direct stores. It also skips items advertised as on sale, gift cards, pre-orders and delivery, and it can’t be used with another Sports Direct promotion on the same order.
That rules out a lot. Many own-brand lines showed reduced prices on 24 October, Sondico’s shin guards among them. Blue Light Card’s public Sports Direct page also says it has no Sports Direct discount code, which clashes with these terms. So look for the code on the Sports Direct offer in the app, and check the basket total drops before you pay.
Junior Football Kit Saves £2.87
Here’s what the 3.75% card does to a junior football kit at Sports Direct prices on 24 October 2026.
| Football kit | Price | Card saves |
|---|---|---|
| Nike Phantom 6 Academy junior boots | £30.00 | £1.13 |
| Sondico Flair Slip shin guards | £4.99 | £0.19 |
| Sondico junior football socks | £2.99 | £0.11 |
| Nike Academy junior top | £12.50 | £0.47 |
| adidas Sereno junior training shorts | £14.99 | £0.56 |
| Sondico junior core base layer | £11.00 | £0.41 |
| Whole kit | £76.47 | £2.87 |
Paid with the card, the whole kit costs £73.60 instead of £76.47, a saving of £2.87. At the 5% on Blue Light Card’s tile, it would be £3.82.
Either way, it’s small next to the £4.99 membership fee for two years. At 3.75%, you’d need to spend about £133 at Sports Direct before the card covers that fee.
Multibuys can matter more if you’re kitting out two children. The Sondico socks were 2 for £5 and the base layer 2 for £17.50. Prices move often, so expect different numbers when you shop.
Frasers Plus Prices Need Credit
Some products also show a Frasers Plus price. The Nike boots in the kit were £30, or £18 with Frasers Plus, a £12 cut that’s more than four times the card’s saving on the whole kit.

The lower price only applies when you pay with Frasers Plus, a credit account from Frasers Group Financial Services. You must be over 18, live in the UK and earn over £7,500, and approval depends on your circumstances.
You can pay in full or over 3 months interest free, or spread the cost over 6 to 36 months at a representative 29.9% APR (variable). Missed payments may affect your credit score.
Friends and Family Codes at 20%
Sports Direct’s public codes can beat both member offers on full-price lines. Its Friends and Family code, FF20, takes 20% off selected full-price lines online and in the app from 20 October to 2 November 2026.
Anyone can use it, Blue Light Card or not. It excludes some brands, gift cards and sale items, and it can’t share an order with the own-brand code, because each rules out other promotions. A similar Friends and Family event ran in April 2026.
JD Sports and Nike Take 10%
Big-brand trainers and kit go further elsewhere. JD Sports gives members 10% off full-price items online, and Nike does the same on its own website. Neither code works on sale stock.

Code and PIN at the Checkout
Buy the Shopping Card before you head to the shop or the checkout.
- Log in to your Blue Light Card account in the app or on the website.
- Search for Sports Direct and open its offer page.
- Choose the Sports Direct Shopping Card and select the value you want.
- Pay the discounted member price. The card then appears in your Wallet with its code and PIN.
- Online, choose Use Gift Card or eVoucher at the Sports Direct checkout, enter the code and PIN, then select Redeem Gift Voucher. In a UK store, pay with it at the till like any gift card.
Online, you can add up to 10 gift cards or eVouchers to one order and pay any balance another way. If that other payment fails at your bank’s end, Sports Direct says the gift card can freeze for 48 hours before it works again.
Sports Direct’s help pages disagree on whether a gift card can pay for an order that uses a code, so check the total before you pay if you try both.
