PureGym takes 5% off Core and 10% off Plus for Blue Light Card members. The joining fee drops to £0 as well.
Blue Light Guide is an independent guide and isn’t affiliated with Blue Light Card Ltd. For your account, verification or payments, use the official Blue Light Card website or app.
It only covers monthly memberships joined through the member link in your Blue Light Card account. There’s no code to type, and NHS staff get the same price.
Off-peak, student and paid in advance memberships don’t get the member price. We checked PureGym’s terms, help centre and Leeds prices on 27 October 2026.
Core at 5% and Plus at 10%
PureGym’s own Blue Light Card page leads with up to 10% off and a £0 joining fee. Further down, it gives the split between the two memberships.

Blue Light Card’s gym page sums it up the same way, as up to 10% off and a £0 joining fee on monthly memberships. Its PureGym page says the price is applied automatically when you click through.
PureGym’s page also carries the Defence Discount Service logo, and the scheme’s sports and fitness page lists a PureGym saving for the armed forces community.
The offer only works on Core or Plus monthly memberships. It excludes off-peak and student memberships and presale gyms that haven’t opened yet, and PureGym can amend or remove it at any time.

Monthly only also rules out paying for 6, 9 or 12 months in advance. PureGym sells those fixed term plans for a single gym, with up to 10% off for paying upfront.
PureGym’s own promo codes won’t add anything on top. Its help centre says a code isn’t accepted when you sign up through a discount provider.
A Year at Leeds City Centre North
On 27 October 2026, PureGym Leeds City Centre North on Merrion Way listed Off-Peak at £21.99 a month, Core at £26.99 and Plus at £34.99. Each had a £10 joining fee.

The page also showed Plus at £26.99 for the first month only, so the sums below use the standard prices.
£52 Off Plus in the First Year
Ten per cent off Plus brings £34.99 down to £31.49, a saving of £3.50 a month. That’s £42 over 12 months, and the waived joining fee takes the first-year saving to £52.
Core saves less. Five per cent off £26.99 is about £1.35, so you’d pay around £25.64 a month. Over a year that’s £16.20, or £26.20 with the joining fee.

The bigger rate on Plus narrows the gap between the two, from £8.00 a month to £5.85. Plus adds access to other PureGyms at the same price or lower, 239 of them from this gym. It also lets you bring a guest up to four times a month and freeze for free.
PureGym bases that list on full Core prices, so the member price doesn’t shrink it.
Off Peak Still Costs £33.80 Less
Off-peak gets no member price, but it can still be the cheapest option. A year at £21.99 a month plus the £10 fee comes to £273.88. Core through the card comes to £307.68, so off-peak works out £33.80 cheaper.
The catch is the hours. At this gym, off-peak members can’t get in between 3:30pm and 8:30pm on weekdays, though weekends are open all day. If your shifts keep you away at those times anyway, off-peak may suit you better.
The card pays for itself here. The £10 joining fee you skip is worth about twice the £4.99 a Blue Light Card costs for two years.
NHS Discounts From 5% to 15%
PureGym’s help centre doesn’t list an NHS discount of its own. NHS staff use the Blue Light Card offer like any other member, and Blue Light Card’s PureGym FAQ says they get the same member pricing and reduced joining fees.

Two other routes are worth a look before you join. One is a free NHS scheme, and the other is a deal set up by your employer.
Free Scheme With 10% Off Core
Health Service Discounts, which is free for NHS and healthcare staff, lists 10% off PureGym memberships. It’s online only and for new customers, and it excludes off-peak, fixed term and student memberships.
On Core, that beats Blue Light Card’s 5%. At Leeds City Centre North it works out at £24.29 a month instead of £25.64. Its terms don’t mention the joining fee, though. On Plus, where both take 10%, Blue Light Card’s £0 joining fee settles it unless Health Service Discounts waives the fee too.
London Ambulance Staff Get 15%
Some employers have their own PureGym page. One for London Ambulance Service staff offers 10% off Core, 15% off Plus and a £0 joining fee, with off-peak, paid in full and presale gyms excluded.
If you can’t find a page for your employer, PureGym’s help centre says to ask them. Its list of corporate discount providers includes Vitality, GymFlex, Perkbox and Perks at Work, and its offers page advertises up to 50% off with Vitality. Our guide for NHS staff explains who qualifies for the card and what it costs.
PureGym Members Must Cancel First
Already a member? PureGym can’t add the discount to an existing membership. Its help centre says it has to verify the discount when you join, so current members cancel and rejoin through the discount page once the old membership ends.

Time it around your payment date. Cancel online at least 4 working days before the next payment, and the membership ends the day before that payment would have been due.
Rejoining usually means paying the joining fee again, but the Blue Light Card offer sets it at £0. If you joined years ago at a lower price, compare that with the member price before you cancel.
Plus Freezes Free for 3 Months
Monthly memberships renew every month by direct debit until you or PureGym cancel. Neither PureGym’s offer page nor Blue Light Card’s says the member price ends after a set time. PureGym’s terms let it raise prices with at least 30 days’ notice, and you can cancel during that window.
Long gaps in a rota are where freezing helps. Plus members can freeze free for up to 3 months in any 12. Core and off-peak members pay £6.99 a month for up to 3 months. A freeze starts from your next payment day, unless that’s less than 4 working days away.
PureGym lists Blue Light Card among its corporate discount providers, and its help centre says members with a corporate discount need PureGym to change things like their home gym or payment date. You can ask its team on Facebook Messenger or by email.
Changed your mind early? Monthly members who cancel within their first 14 days get back the rest of the month and any joining fee they paid, under PureGym’s Money Back Guarantee.
Check for £0 Before You Pay
Start in Blue Light Card, not on PureGym’s website, so the member price comes with you.
| Step | Where | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Blue Light Card app or website | Search for PureGym and open the offer |
| 2 | PureGym offer page | Press Get Discount to reach PureGym |
| 3 | PureGym join page | Pick your gym, then Core or Plus |
| 4 | Payment step | Check the member price and £0 fee |
| 5 | PureGym app | Use the QR code or 8-digit PIN |
If the member price or the £0 fee isn’t showing, stop before you pay. Blue Light Card’s help centre says that once you’ve paid without a discount, the partner’s own policies apply. Go back to the offer and click through again.
Our gym discounts comparison sets PureGym against Nuffield Health, The Gym Group and Bannatyne. Our guide to using the card explains link offers, codes and Shopping Cards.
Kit is the other cost. Blue Light Card’s gym page lists Gymshark at 10% off, and our guides cover the Nike and adidas codes and the Sports Direct Shopping Card. The discounts list covers other brands on the card.
